Mission

A refuge from the endless scroll.

Perch is built as a refuge from the exhausting world of endless swiping, replacing it with real curation for people seeking real connection.

What we believe

Dating should feel like being introduced, not like being served a feed.

The Perch principle

The name

Why a perch?

A perch is not a destination. It is the place a bird chooses to stop — high enough to see clearly, still enough to think, and close enough to decide where to go next.

That is the posture we want dating to have again. Not the frantic thumb-work of a feed with no end, but a vantage point: a small number of people worth your attention, and the time to work out whether they are right for you.

Every decision we make is measured against that idea.

A fuller statement of who we are, who we build for and where we are going is on its way. In the meantime, the principles below are the ones every decision gets measured against.

Curation over volume

A smaller number of well-chosen introductions beats an infinite queue of near-misses. We would rather send you three people worth meeting than three hundred worth ignoring.

Feedback that counts

What you liked and did not like about a match is not thrown away. It goes straight back into the model, so the next introduction is better reasoned than the last.

Built for real connection

Every measure of success we hold ourselves to is about the quality of the people you meet — not the hours you spend in the app.
